I have downloaded quite a few of these over the years, and after a post from “Unexplained Magazine” I thought I’d compile them all into a list for other teams out there. There are a number of free, and not so free, programs /databases that help house, keep and maintain your investigations.

These are a handful of the ones our team has downloaded, and attempted to implement into our investigations, and found that most of them are missing elements that are important. Which is why our team has started a database building project about 8 months ago. We will make it available as shareware when we’re finished.

For those out there who are interested, here are a few of the more known, and safe to download, paranormal report builders. Use them, abuse them, and review them. Let the creators know your thoughts on them. Hopefully it will allow you to organize, utilize and help your team with investigations.

ParaSeeker
Designed to help the paranormal investigator keep track of their investigations.

Paranormal Research Filer
Free trial version; purchasable. It is put out by Georgia Spectral Investigations. The cost is 10 dollars. There are problems we see with this program. Lack of ability to create a data logged session with sensors like EMF, Temp, Humidity, etc. I also couldn’t not figure out how to print it in report form, as to give to the client.

Ghost Hunter
Taken off of the website itself -
This is the perfect computer program for anyone into Ghost Hunting or any other types of hauntings. This program lets you record detailed information such as: DATE OF OCCURRENCE, TIME OF OCCURRENCE, LOCATION, GPS INFO, HISTORY LOCATION, TELEPHONE NUMBERS, NOTES, COMMENTS, SIGHTING INFO, SOUNDS, ODORS, TEMPERATURE ANOMALIES, and more.
( Although we don’t feel it’s “perfect” it does help teams, especially new teams, get a feel of what should be documented. And again, it’s hard to print out in a form report format to give to the clients at the end of your case.)

Ghost Tech PI
Ghost-Tech PI is your free one stop resource to documenting your paranormal investigations. (We had a hard time downloading and installing this program into vista. The program works fine with XP. If you get it to work in Vista,  please let us know how to get it going.)

AGHOST Reporting Database
The AGHOST reporting database is not good for people who are unsavvy with coding. You have to know code, and know how to build the database from what’s provided.

ParaTracker
ParaTracker Professional is a database driven program designed to assist the paranormal investigator in detailing all of their research, readings, clients, images, sounds, reports, investigations and so much more. It comes with a number of modules to keep your team on track.

Electronic Ghost Hunters Companion
The Electronic Ghost Hunters Companion is a PC version of a paranormal investigator’s log. It features saving and retrieving from an Access database, with the ability to keep track of investigations and photos.
